Can Oncology Nursing Education Change the Attitude of Nursing Students toward Cancer (Cancer Stigma)? A Quasi-Experimental Study

Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the effect of oncology nursing internship education on attitudes students (stigma) toward cancer patients. The in a faculty İzmir, Turkey.
 Methods: quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design used this study. sample composed totally 84 students, who attended course Oncology Nursing Internship (n:43) and Gynaecology Obstetrics (n:41). Student Information Form Questionnaire for Measuring Attitudes Toward Cancer - Community Version were as data collection tool interns received an including 280 hours practice 56 theory other group had no subject. In order efficiency attitude compare groups, applied again both groups at end semester. 
 Results: As result study, it found that increased positive patients (t=5.591, p=0.000). Conclusion: programs should be integrated into curricula provide more effective care services develop attitudes.
